Tutor warm-up

G7.RP.A.1

Use equivalent ratios to solve proportional relationship problems

Let’s double both parts of the ratio: 2 cups to 4 cups and 3 packs to 6 packs.

  1. Start with 2 cups for 3 packs.
  2. Notice that 6 is double 3.
  3. Double the yogurt too: 2 becomes 4.
  4. So 6 fruit packs need 4 cups of yogurt.

G7.RP.A.2

Find and compare unit rates

Find the amount for 1 hour by dividing both values by 3.

  1. Write the rate as 36 miles in 3 hours.
  2. A unit rate means the amount for 1 hour.
  3. Divide 36 by 3.
  4. The scooter travels 12 miles per hour.
